I'm Vendicagiusti from Sacred Italian community. I am a Sacred Italia staff member and I contact you because I would support and improve your "sacred veteran mod" software to make it compatible and usable with our Italian Sacred game. If you send us your "english strings" then we would send them translated back to you, so you'll be able to recompile your software with the Italian 'strings' in it.

I know Sacred is an old game but it's still well played over here in Italy.
There are a lot of italian players that are still playing with sacred 1.

Hi Vendicagiusti,

sorry, that I read your post after 3 days, but we are a little bit inactive.

The Sacred Veteran Mod changes only 2 files (creature.pak and balance.bin). The mod changes the files only temporarily (before starting the sacred.exe) and restores the original files after playing.
Both files are different between the versions and the languages. If you could provide your files, we would have a good chance to adapt the veteran mod for the italian version 2.28. But I can't promise that it works.

Did you forget to install this patch:

hello ufo.
I checked my version of sacred and it is the 2.28. I also asked to the other players (with sacred 2.28) their version of sacred.exe. Even they have the 2.0.2.68.

2.0.2.68 is the most recently version of italian sacred.exe.

I'm working on a solution, that it works for ALL 2.2.8 Sacred versions, independent of the language.
